Company History

The origin of Fuji Xerox Singapore dates back to 1965 when the company was still part of the Rank Xerox organisation, a joint venture between Rank Organisation and Xerox Corporation. The Singapore branch was first incorporated as Rank Xerox (Overseas) Pte Ltd and later renamed as Rank Xerox (Singapore) Pte Ltd in 1985.

In 1991, Rank Xerox Singapore was sold to Fuji Xerox Company Ltd of Japan, (a 50-50 joint venture company between Fuji Photo Co. Ltd and Xerox Corporation), and was renamed Fuji Xerox Singapore Pte Ltd. In 2001, Xerox sold half of its stakes in Fuji Xerox to Fuji Photo Film Co. Ltd. and retained 25% of ownership interest.

Today, Fuji Xerox Singapore Pte Ltd is a wholly owned company of Fuji Xerox Asia-Pacific, together with other operating companies in Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Fuji Xerox Singapore has set the industry standard by attending to customers' need for after-sales service within 3 hours of a request, and by offering a Total Satisfaction Guarantee (TSG) programme that allows customers to exchange equipment that falls short of their expectations. We also provide flexible and affordable in-house financing options for our customers. These include payment via installments, leasing, rental and liberal trade-in schemes.

Achievements

In 2003, Fuji Xerox Singapore embarked on an environmentally conscious programme and is now an ISO 14001 certified company. The company takes their environmental stewardship every bit as seriously as the business commitments they make to their customers and business partners. The certification process started in March 2003 and within nine months Fuji Xerox Singapore along with ten other regional Fuji Xerox operating countries attained their ISO 14001 certification simultaneously.

In their strive to be a world class company, Fuji Xerox Singapore made its first step in refining its business processes and succeeded in attaining the ISO 9002 certification in 1996. They took further steps in structuring their business in the framework of the Singapore Quality Award, and succeeded in attaining the Singapore Quality Class in 1998.

In addition, Fuji Xerox Singapore has won a number of accolades and awards for its software and products. These include the IT Singapore Vendor Award 2000 ('All-in-one Systems' category), PC Week Asia's (eWeekAsia) Annual Readers' Choice Vendors 2000 (document software category), ACW Readers' Choice 2003 Gold Performer Awards. Most recently, Fuji Xerox was awarded the Gold "Superbrand" status in the Reader's Digest Superbrands 2004 and 2006 for Office Equipment (Fax/Photocopier) category.

New Developments

Fuji Xerox has been investing and expanding its operations in Singapore for 40 years since 1965. In August 2004, Fuji Xerox moved into its new Singapore flagship premises at Fuji Xerox Towers, 80 Anson Road. This move reinforces Fuji Xerox's greater presence in Singapore in anticipation of the expansion of the company's role in the region.

The new premises consolidates most of Fuji Xerox's functional offices in Singapore under one roof, and will offer an ideal and highly visible frontage for the Singapore epicenter, a new competency center which will revolutionize the printing industry and the Open Office Frontier Solution Centre.

To support its "Open Office Frontier" business vision and meet new customer demands, the "Open Office Frontier Solution Centre(OOFSC)" incorporates a wide range of technology and services, including a showcase of hardware, software and the latest document management technology. The OOFSC, located at the 4th level of the Fuji Xerox Towers will serve as a "one stop" solution centre which provides solution ideas and concepts for customers as well as a collaboration space with business partners.

The Singapore epicenter, a new competency centre that provides a platform for business solutions and showcasing next-generation document management concepts, will make Fuji Xerox Singapore the regional gateway for digital printing in Singapore and the whole of Southeast Asia. It will place Singapore firmly on the world map for advanced document solutions technology.
