Fuji Xerox launches industry's first environmentally-conscious multifunction printing products

- State of the art print technology enhances workflow with improved security -
- Specially designed paper output tray for visually impaired users -

Singapore, October 22, 2008 - Fuji Xerox Singapore today announced the launch of its latest range of multifunction devices (MFD) - the ApeosPort-III C3300/C2200/C2201 and DocuCentre-III C3300/C2200/C2201. The first in the industry to take advantage of environmentally-friendly technologies such as temperature-controlling feature to reduce power consumption to just 2.2W, this latest range was recognised for its green efforts last year, when it was presented with Japan's prestigious Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Prize in the Eco Product Category at the 4th Eco-Products Awards.

"Given Fuji Xerox's dedication over the decades to the environment, through initiatives such as our zero landfill policy and recycling centre in Thailand, it is only natural that we extend this to our products, with a set of innovative technologies that will help our partners do their part for the environment," said Bert Wong, Managing Director, Fuji Xerox Singapore. "We also hope that this will help us pass on the green' message and increase the awareness amongst our partners."

Friendly to the environment

Built with the environment in mind, the new range of ApeosPort-III and DocuCentre-III MFDs are jam packed with features that help save power consumption and waste. Parts of the output unit, including the paper feeder, are now using lead-free shafts. A newly developed biomass plastic that comprises of more than 30 percent of plant-derived matter is used to manufacture moving parts in the machine. This effectively reduces the carbon dioxide emissions during printing. And thanks to an energy-saving controller, a highly efficient lamp and temperature-controlling technology that reduces power consumption in sleep mode to just 2.2W, the new MFDs use significantly less power compared to conventional devices.

LED technology delivers laser quality images

Despite using green technologies, image quality is not compromised. The MFDs have a newly developed print head that uses Light Emitting Diode (LED) as a source to write images on the photoreceptor drum, delivering a high image quality of 1,200 x 2,400 dpi - equivalent to laser print systems. The LED print head is also more compact, allowing for less noise emission and finishers such as a stapler to be incorporated.

Specially designed paper output tray for visually impaired

Fuji Xerox has incorporated an easily-located paper output tray especially for the visually impaired, so they can use the ApeosPort-III C3300/C2200/C2201 and DocuCentre-III C3300/C2200/C2201 conveniently. With a quick warm-up time of 35 seconds, and printing and copying speeds of up to 35/25/25 pages per minute for black and white, and 35/25/20 pages per minute for colour documents, waiting time is shortened to allow for greater productivity.

Trusted technology with enhanced security

In addition, the ApeosPort-III and DocuCentre-III are equipped with sophisticated network management features such as SNMPv3 and IEEE802.1 security enhancement, and are IPv6 (Internet Protocol Version 6) ready.

Fuji Xerox's ApeosPort series is built on the successful Apeos iiX (Apeos Internet Integration based on XML and SOAP platform) technology that transforms MFDs into document portals, to enable seamless connections for business applications and processes.
