Every year we take Christmas
wishes seriously. But before you think of us as being self indulgent,
these wishes are not ours, but that of the needy.
Our annual X'mas Wish Tree
Programme has already helped grant 1,700 wishes of the less fortunate
from the Children Cancer Society and beneficiaries of the Boy's Brigade
for the past five years.
Fuji Xerox Singapore's Managing Director,
Bert Wong and representatives from Boys Brigade, Children's Cancer
Foundation, and Delcare Edu Center launched the Programme on 2 November
this year.
350 wishes were hung
on the X'mas Wish Tree where staff eagerly picked out the wishes
they chose to fulfill. Participants also had the choice of donating
the $20 hampers that contained daily essentials such as cooking
oil and rice. This charity drive was open to members of public till
2 December.
The festive
event was made more joyous with performances by Boys Brigade cadets
and children from Del Care education centre. The 15 cadets from Loyang
and Yuying Secondary School literally took the stage by storm with
their drill sequences set to the hit song Viva La Vida, looking cool
in their sunglasses and uniform. The crowd cheered to their drill-and-dance
set. Then on came the 62 children, aged three to six years old, to
soften the mood with their angelic voices. Their innocence and showmanship
touched everyone's hearts.
At the end
of the day we were happy to note that 317 wishes were fulfilled and
180 hampers with a total value of $3,600.00 were donated. At a time
when everyone is thinking of presents and feasts, Fuji Xerox is once
again proud to have made an impact in the lives of the needy in a
joyous and spirited occasion.
