Hello, my name is Lee Soon Kim and I am the General Manager of Human Organization Resource & Development. Here at Fuji Xerox, like other companies, we aim to boost productivity. While the term is one of the most commonly used, different organizations may have different ways of measuring it. At the end of the day, we are all concerned with the use of critical resources such as staff, technology, or processes to make worklife more effective, efficient, and fun. Through the use of simpler and more interesting processes, staff feel happier and are likely to function more effectively, thus resulting in productivity. For instance, productivity can be maximized by providing adequate facilities to encourage open interaction and discussion among colleagues, both in professional and casual contexts. For professional sessions, we have spacious meeting rooms and workspaces. Open spaced corners and pool tables are provided for more laidback and interactive sessions. Also, as our entire office is wireless, staff is not desk-bound and can work anywhere in the office. Collaboration space is important because we want to have an office that allows us to engage our staff and customers. By promoting an open and innovative culture that facilitates friendly interaction, we found that communication between colleagues was more effective, resulting in timely decision making and faster response time to customers.
